You don't even have to spend any money; since window shopping is perfectly acceptable, and nearly as much fun as spending cash!
What a great way to find out your date's likes, dislikes and get a feel for their personal style.
Have you ever thought about browsing through some of those dusty old used bookstores for favorites you've forgotten about, or even for something "new" (to you, that is!) This can be great fun, and really inexpensive too!
Add some romance!
Choose a book you can both agree on; buy it and take it home- but don't forget about it! Take turns reading to each other, either a page or a chapter at a time. Add some candlelight (to enhance the mood, not to the book- you don't want those kind of flames!)
Some other ideas for you to consider:
Bookstores: (used as listed above, or new. Grab a cup of coffee and browse- store rules vary so check before you do this!)
Comics and Collectibles: Comic stores are always a hit for collectors; while antique stores are the place to go for collectibles.
Farmers Market: Not just produce! Check out hand-made items from local artisans.
Flea Market
Mall
Streets: Depending on where you live, larger cities have entire streets filled with cute little specialty shops. Keep the good ones in mind for future Christmas and birthday ideas.
Yard Sales: Turn it into a competition! See who can find the best "treasure" for the least!
