Fun romantic ideas, romantic date ideas, we don't know what the difference is, as long as you are enjoying the company of the person you are with!

You want fun AND romance? That can be a tricky thing to accomplish. Too much fun, and it's no longer romantic. Too much romance, and it isn't fun (well, maybe...)

Guys don't like getting mushy in public, girls do. Guys like romance to spontaneously happen, girls like it planned out.

See how it's a difficult balance?

One of our hands-down favorite fun romantic ideas that seems to balance both really well is a sunset hot air balloon ride. Everyone should try this at least once. It's magical. It's fun. It's romantic. All the boxes get checked for this one.

Floating gently in the air not your thing? Right then, what about heading underwater instead? We've gone from one extreme to the other, with scuba diving as our next pick.

Fun, definitely. But we also think that there's something romantic about being underwater with your partner- and only being able to communicate with hand signals. It's a bonding experience you'll remember for a long time (providing you both aren't professional divers, of course!).

Not into going underwater? What about Space then? If you happen to live near a planetarium. What's more romantic than gazing up at the stars together? No planetarium nearby? Not to worry, a clear evening anywhere you have access to an open sky (away from city lights) will work just fine.

Looking for something a bit more physically intimate? No, not that, but we know what you are thinking!

We mean taking a dance class together. This is a bit of a commitment though, since they tend to last over a period of time. This fun romantic idea is great exercise, plus, you'll learn a new skill. Who knows, maybe you are a fabulous Tango dancer!

And our final idea is to take a ferry ride at dusk, very romantic and not too expensive. Actually, where we live, there's a free ferry that goes out to an island (how romantic is THAT??).

Check around and see what you can find in your area. If you leave your car behind and walk on, it makes the price much more affordable. Once you get to the other side, grab an ice cream, and take a walk. When you are done, just grab the next ferry home (watch the time, many have cut off times, and if you miss it, you'll be there for the night!)
