Fun first date ideas, because your first date should be just that- fun!
We've put together a short list of what we think are the best ideas. If you have one that you think should be on the list, please contact us and we'll be happy to add it!
Go to a concert together. It's loud, but it's also an adrenaline rush. Pick a band you both like. This is a first date that you'll both probably remember for a long time!
Drive-in Movie. These are hard to find, so if you happen to live near one, take advantage of it! Offers more privacy than the regular cinema. You can talk all you want without people hushing you and shooting you dirty looks.
Grab a cup of coffee or tea at your local coffee shop. Depending on the person you are with, this could be a lot of fun, or turn dull very quickly.
If you are good at initiating conversation, asking questions and just generally keeping the conversation going, this could be for you. Potential to learn a lot about each other in a short amount of time.
Pack up the skates and head to an outdoor rink, lake or pond. Lots of fun for a winter date that's cheap too- providing you both own skates. You can also rent them in many places for not-too-much.
Another great winter activity that also makes a terrific and fun first date idea is to go downhill skiing. You can rent all of the equipment you need when you get to the hill. Get to know each other on your way up the chairlift and while sipping hot cocoa in the chalet afterwards.
Turn the winter skating idea into a summertime one with rollerblading. Most major cities have paths for biking that can also be used for rollerblading. Stop at a coffee shop afterwards for Italian sodas and some conversation.
Go sightseeing. Yup, in your own city if you want. Most major centers offer some sort of bus or water tour- sometimes both!
Take a tour and be surprised with what you learn. When it's done, you can always visit one (or more) of the places you saw on the tour. This is a good lead-in to a second date opportunity if this one is going well.
First dates are all about discovering the other person and how the two of you connect. Enjoy yourselves, laugh. At the very least, you may make a new friend.
