Easy Homemade Gift Ideas

Free Homemade Gift Ideas that are useful, easy to make, and you won't be embarrassed to give!

If you've tired searching for handmade gifts before, you know many of them can be just plain tacky. We hope that there's something on our list that you'll find suitable to give!

*More detailed instructions and links to crafts found on this page are in the works as of 01 Feb 2010. Thank you for your patience.

  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix: Layered in a jar, this gift can be made once the holidays are over. Or, can just be used as a kitchen decoration for the non-baker on your list!
  • Brownie Mix: Same deal as the cookie mix. To give as a gift, you could also seal it in a Ziplock bag and put it in a pretty cloth (re-usable) gift bag.
  • Homemade Ornaments: Made with dough, foam, beads or anything else you can think of
  • Potpourri: Ok, some people like this. You might want to find out before making it if the person you intend to give it to does
  • Cookies: You can make them in October if you want to, and freeze until ready to give
  • Recipes: Write out your favourites on recipe cards and arrange by categories such as appetizers, entrees and desserts, into a 4x6 photo album or into a pretty recipe box
  • Paper Bag Scrapbook
  • Chocolate Dipped Candy Canes. Just dip in melted semi-sweet chocolate, allow to cool and wrap in cellophane. Decorate with small bows. Makes a cute gift topper and are great to use as stir sticks for hot chocolate!
  • Create a Hollow Book:
  • Make a recipe booklet: This is different from the previous mentioned recipe idea
  • Friendship Bracelet: You can really personalize these by using favourite colours and letters to spell out something meaningful
  • Popcorn: No, not just the normal salt and butter kind! Create different flavours like sugar and spice and pizza.
  • Spice Rub: Great on chicken
