Seafood Recipies

Seafood Strata

One of our favorite easy seafood recipes. May be prepared the night before and refrigerated until needed.

What you will need:

  • 2-3 cups cubed, leftover bread (sweet breads work really well and add flavour)
  • 1/2 cup red onion, slivered
  • 2 celery stalks diced
  • 1/2 cup chopped red, green OR yellow peppers
  • 1/2 lb mixed seafood (shrimp, crab, or any other seafood you like)
  • 1 1/2 cups of cheese (Swiss or Havarti work really well)
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp dried mustard
  • Salt and Pepper

How to make it:

Place bread in two high-sided, oiled quiche pans.

Add the vegetables.

Spread seafood on top of vegetables and press gently into the pan.

Spread cheese on top.

Combine eggs, milk and mustard in a bowl and pour on top of cheese.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 45 minutes, until the strata is brown and bubbly.

Serves 4-6
